Danny the Dragon {review}

What a delightful opportunity we had to check out Tina Turbin's latest book, Danny the Dragon "Meets Jimmy". We couldn't wait to dive right in!

The story is one of a unlikely pair of traveling buddies who wind up as guests at the house of Jimmy and his family. It unravels into a charming story full of acceptance, friendship, and sense of adventure.

My daughter's favorite character?

Danny the Dragon, of course! The illustrations, by Aija Jasuna, add beautifully to the story that more than anything, sparks imagination. We love it!
A little more about the amazing author, Tina Turbin:

" Tina wrote her first story at age 16, and has since gone on to enjoy many years of working with and helping children and their families. She is a tireless advocate for children and families with intense research and involvement in children's education, literature, celiac disease, allergies and gluten-free issues. Tina's research led her to writing about these topics, leading to her extensive interviews and revelations in these fields. She has since become a passionate and tireless supporter in the effort to raise awareness on these issues. Tina dedicates herself to widespread activism with extremely reputable organizations, while she continues to write delightful children's books.

As a prolific researcher and writer, Tina lends her expertise to a variety of weekly publications, radio shows, web sites, and launched her own highly successful gluten-free resource web site
www.GlutenFreeHelp.info.

Tina takes great pleasure in her abilities as an award-winning author, humanitarian, researcher and friend to many."

In addition to the Danny the Dragon books, we also had the opportunity to listen to Danny the Dragon Dreams CD which included the story and ten soothing classical pieces that follow. It was a perfect bedtime addition! Even more, ALL profits from the CD are part of Tina's gift to the Celiac Disease Center at Columbia University Medical Center, a research facility working toward awareness of celiac disease and the gluten-free diet.

The book and CD are available at http://www.dannythedragon.com/ , Amazon, and other bookstores. (Check out Danny's website! There is a monthly giveaway with the opportunity to win Danny the Dragon goodies, and tons of resources and information for those seeking support for celiac disease.)

Something tells me this isn't the last we'll see of Danny the Dragon...

A special thanks to Tina Turbin and Rosie Newman for providing me with Danny the Dragon goodies to review! Thanks ladies! What a treat!
