The Story of Easter {review}

Easter is just around the corner! Can you believe it?

The end of Jesus' life can be confusing and sometimes scary to kids. With that in mind, The Story of Easter written by Gwen Ellis and illustrated by Steve Smallman, combines the story in a kid-friendly way that brings readers through the last days of Jesus' life on earth. The author has also retold the Christmas Story too!

The book had wonderful pictures, and a very interactive text, with questions on every page and an activity with pictures at the end. Along with the book, a DVD is included with short illustrated stories that retell the Easter Story in an animated way. My daughter especially liked the story "A Big Surprise" Matthew 28:1-10 where the angel appears to tell that Jesus has risen. All in all, a book that can definitely grow with my family!
Check it out for yourself!

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Check it out to see if it's something you'd like to try!

  1. Thanks for the recommendation! I've been looking for a good Easter book. I know my son will love it. I'll definitely check out the Christmas one as well.
