on the vine

Happy Labor Day! Enjoy!

Elizabeth of Eternal Eden is celebrating her {almost} one year anniversary on etsy! She shares on her blog some fantastic lessons she has learned in her first year (my fave is number one... and five :))

Have you ever been to U create? The lovely ladies over there search high and low to bring you the most fabulous crafty fun from the web. Check out this daybed tutorial found on Kara's Korner!

And more books. I've been a reading machine lately! I just finished The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society last night, and I am in love! Such an interesting book... about war but also about the importance of reading... a must read!! Might even motivate you to get a little book club started!!

Bozeman, MT 's own Greg Mortenson, the author, tells his tale of bringing literacy to Pakistan and Afghanistan in Three Cups of Tea. True story, that continues through today (now I need to read Stones into Schools!). My favorite lesson from the book? Women are the agents of change in society -- to better ourselves, we must better the women.

Disclaimer: I buy these books on my own, and these are not affiliate links. Just my plain old humble opinion! :)

  1. I LOVED the Guernsy Potato Peel book and have passed it on to SEVERAL people. And I just started Three Cups of Tea, which was given to me by an older woman in my community whom I greatly admire.

    I enjoy your blog.
