Love came down... {incourage deals + giveaway}

As we are anxiously awaiting many things this Christmas season...

We are trying to slow down and remember what this entire season means, minus the lights, wrapping paper, and decorated sugar cookies with a pile of red sprinkles.

Our favorite Christmas carol is "Joy to the World", and my favorite line is "let every heart, prepare Him room".  All the hustle and bustle of Christmas is to prepare for a very special birthday, and to carve out room in our hearts to celebrate the miracle of Christmas.

Isn't this Advent Calendar from DaySpring perfect for awaiting the season?  I absolutely LOVE it, and my girls are having so much fun moving the heart as each day passes!  Check out the other beautiful "Love Came Down..." theme over at (in)courage.  You know I love them!!

And you too could pick this out with a giveaway for a $35 gift code from DaySpring!

  1. I have a few favorite traditions for Christmas. On Christmas Eve we always have a lasagna dinner (homemade by my mom and older sister). After dinner, we always read the Christmas Story from Luke before we dig into opening presents. This is so important, especially raising our triplets! We need to make sure they know what Christmas is really all about. This year, we also decided to not decorate the tree with all of our usual ornaments. Instead, we put up just the lights and the star on top. We wanted our 3 year olds to see that simple is where Jesus started and now all they do is look up at the star and tell me how beautiful it is. I think if we would've decorated it with a bunch of other glamorous stuff the star would've been lost. That's how I want my kids to remember Jesus (the star) during this season.

  2. We are just very blessed to be together at christmas. We dont always have much but we have so ,much fun cooking, baking and playing games together. The one tradition that has been carried on since they were babies is the christmas eve opening of their pajamas from grandma

  3. One tradition that I loved was a big sing-along with my extended family. We used to gather at my grandparents' house and have goodies and sing Christmas carols (while making up some of our own like the annual 12 Days of Christmas original rendition). It was a great time to be with family and enjoy the Christmas spirit. I keep saying that I'm going to do a similar thing with friends, but I have yet to put my plans into motion.

  7. The ornaments are my favorite tradition. I love to think about when we got each one and what they mean. This is the first year I've had several ornaments on my tree from the tree my parents had when I was a little girl. They are priceless!
